How to wear: Black Patent Dr Martens

Monday, June 25, 2012

I think Dr Martens are something you either love or you hate. I knew my mum had a pair when she was younger but I hadn't actually got a pair myself! I knew they were shoes which lasted you FOREVER and that they were so versatile so when I finally got a pair from Cloggs I was ecstatic!

I thought I'd show you all How I wear docs. I think it depends on your personal style how you want to wear them. I took 10 seperate outfit photos in docs of my ideas and I've settled on 4. I've gone for some 'traditional' ways you'd wear them and some which are a little bit different!
Outfit One: With a Maxi Skirt
Photobucket
Top - Topshop (old)
Maxi Skirt - Topshop
Dr Martens - Cloggs(*)
This is quite a casual way to wear Docs. I think it depends on what top you wear with a maxi skirt to how 'dressy' this look can be. I'd wear it with a cardigan in the day and depending on where i'm going on a night out I'd wear it with a leather jacket!
Outfit Two: With Jeans
Photobucket
Top - H&M
Jeans - Topshop
Dr Martens - Cloggs(*)
I've teamed my docs with jeans for this outfit to show a casual day to day look. I think this is a great outfit as it looks fab with jeans and stylish but simple!
Outfit Three: With a Crop Top
Photobucket
Crop Top - Topshop
Scarf - ASOS (old)
Disco Pants - AA @ ASOS
Dr Martens - Cloggs(*)
As you can see I love crop tops! You will have seen this crop top a few times before and I just love teaming it with everything at the moment! I think it looks great with disco pants and docs for a completely different look. I wanted to look edgy but on trend and I think this outfit does the trick!
Outfit Four: With Disco Pants
Photobucket
Cardigan - Topshop via Ebay
T-shirt - Topshop
Disco Pants - AA @ ASOS
Dr Martens - Cloggs(*)
I love this look. This is probably my favourite! I wear this t-shirt all the time as it's probably one of the most versatile tops I own! It's super soft and very slouchy and looks good with everything! I love this cardigan to (again for the slouch factor!) I think this look works so well with docs as it's stylish and comfortable!

These are just a few ways I'd wear Doc Martens! Do you have a pair? How do you wear yours?

Also these exact Dr Martens are only £69.99 and are IN THE SALE! what are you waiting for?

I've always wanted a pair of DM's but I don't know...I've just never ever got round to it! You certainly are persuading me though with your array of different looks, they are so versatile! If I did get a pair I'm sure I'd be able to wear them with anything and everything! You look lovely.

Oh, I'd love some Dr Marten's sooo bad! I just wouldn't have a clue which colour/design to get, I'd want some one colour to match some things then another to match others! Too much choice haha! I love them with the disco pants on #3, I'd never even think to wear them like that, you look lovely.
