Beauty: October Beauty Favourites ft Too Faced, Bare Minerals & Nars

Thursday, November 10, 2016

I read a post on twitter earlier that it’s only 6 Mondays until Christmas which to me is just madness! Where is this year going? I have Christmas presents to start thinking of buying now and that scares me as last Christmas feels like yesterday. Seems as it’s November now, I figured it was time for another beauty favourites and I love doing these sorts of posts as it shows how the products I use vary from month to month. If you haven't already read last months beauty favourite post you can check out the post here.

This month I’ve been really into brows, foundation and finding the right concealer as I feel like I haven’t mastered the perfect ‘base’ yet. I loved using the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and it will always be a favourite of mine, just sometimes I doubt how much I love it as I feel like I need a foundation with higher coverage, especially in winter (or one that gives a real flawless finish) you know the sort of foundation that glides on with a beauty blender…and I think I may have found the solution!

I’m a massive fan of BareMinerals Complexion Rescue (this product is a life saver if you’re a busy girl on the go and you don’t have a lot of time to do you make up) and I’m currently on my third tube of the product. I thought now was the right time to test out their brightening serum foundation as I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about it. However, after using this for just over a week despite being super impressed there is a downside. This foundation is runny, there’s been numerous occasions I’ve managed to get this on my hands/arms without meaning too. I think the foundation is really easy to blend and layer for a flawless look but make sure you shake this before using and put it on the back of your hand as it’s got a thin consistency.

When it comes to concealer it’s worth it to spend a few more pennies as I’ve found that high street concealers don’t have as long lasting power, the concealer creases throughout the day and doesn’t provide full coverage when it comes to spots and blemishes. I tend not to use high street concealers that often (unless I am running out of a higher end one!) This concealer from BareMinerals goes perfectly with the brightening serum foundation. This concealer covers blemishes and highlights the under eye area and your brow bone SO well!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - £22.50

This is probably the most talked about concealer in the beauty blogging (and YouTube) world and for so long now it’s been on my wish list. A few months ago now I added this to my collection and I love it. I use this concealer on uneven skin tone, under my eyebrows are a highlight and to cover any spots/moles. It’s super high coverage this concealer and blends in really well. For the price, I’m unsure as to whether I’d repurchase as I think I prefer the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (and it’s £5 cheaper as well).

Topshop Limited Edition Highlighter in Crescent Moon - £10

I’ve spoken about this concealer a few times now and I love it. I think it’s a great alternative to theBalm Mary Lou Manizer if you want to save a few pennies. This highlighter is only £10 and it’s super good for the price as a little goes a long way. I love using this at the top of my cheekbones, underneath my brows and to highlight my cupids bow.
TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara - £19

Does the dream mascara exist? I think so. I absolutely love using this mascara and I would never have tried it if it weren’t for an edition of Glossybox a few months ago in which a mini version of this was inside. I love the amount of length this gives my lashes and volume without looking clumpy.

Estee Lauder The Brow Multitasker - £21
I think when you’re a woman with dark eyebrows you take a lot of pride in your eyebrows as they really do define your face. I for one love getting my eyebrows threaded and I like my eyebrows to look bold without looking fake. I remember spying this product on the Estee Lauder counter in Boots a few months ago and I knew I’d become obsessed with it. Who doesn’t love a multitasking product? This brow product comes with a spoolie, powder and a sculpting gel. This allows you to sculpt, shape and define your brows just using one product. I love using this and if you love a multi-tasking product (and your eyebrows) I’m sure you’ll love this too.

Have you tried any of these products? Have you got any beauty recommendations for me to add to my beauty wish list?
