Beauty: My May Favourites ft Estee Lauder, Hourglass, Topshop and Maybelline

Sunday, May 29, 2016

Following on the success of last months April favourites post, I’ve decided to put together a post about my beauty favourites from the month of May. There have been so many products I’ve loved using lately. This months favourites include products from Estee Lauder, Hourglass, Maybelline and Topshop beauty.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation  - Boots
This foundation is voted time and time again the UK number 1 foundation and I knew I had to give this a go when my current foundation ran out. All my life I’ve never been able to find a foundation, which has been perfect for my skin tone. With being mixed raced, I find it hard to find the ideal foundation on the high-street for my skin tone so from about 2 years ago I’ve tried using Bare Minerals, MAC, Urban Decay but nothing has really worked well for me.

It’s only in the past four weeks I’ve been using Estee Lauder double wear and I’ve never had so many compliments on my skin. I’ve even had people come up to me in public asking what foundation I use and that must mean it’s good right?  This foundation has improved my confidence when wearing make-up too.

Estee Lauder Daywear Anti-Oxidant Creme - Boots

It’s hard to explain my love for this cream. I never thought I would find something, which helps my skin look flawless. Ever since using the Estee Lauder doublewear foundation, I’ve used this before hand as a moisturiser and a primer and it ensures that my skin looks flawless. I use this now every morning before my foundation and it works so well on my skin. This is only a sample size from when I bought my foundation and a liquid lipstick but you can buy the full size version here.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze - Boots

I am completely addicted to using cream eyeshadows at the moment. I am a really big fan of the traditional eyeshadow palette but there’s just something about cream eyeshadows that really appeals to me.  If I was stuck on a deserted island and could only bring one eyeshadow with me I would chose this shade without a doubt. It’s so easy to use (and blend) and looks gorgeous on the eyes.

Topshop highlighter in Horizon - Topshop

Topshop beauty I feel is really underrated in the beauty blogging industry. I’ve never found a product from Topshop beauty I haven’t loved. Topshop have three highlighters and this one is in Horizon. They also have a lighter highlighter shade in Sunbeam. I love using this highlighter to add a hint of colour to my cheeks, but also to create a summery, dewy glow.

Everything Stick in Defiant - Topshop

Who doesn’t love an all in one product? Ever since the Topshop everything stick launched I was eager to try it out. I picked up the shade defiant and it’s a gorgeous dark toned nude shade and this works so well as a lipstick and a blusher. What I like about this product is it works really well as a lipstick; it’s really pigmented and easy to wear. I would say this works better as a blusher then an eyeshadow though but on the whole it is a great all-in-one product.

Estee Lauder liquid lipstick in 120 Extreme Nude - Boots

I’m having a bit of a moment for Estee Lauder right now. After trying out their foundation and being so impressed and the daywear cream, I decided to pick up a liquid lipstick. I am beyond impressed with this shade ‘extreme nude’ and it’s an essential in my travel make-up bag. I love the shade and it’s a great nude shade against my skin tone.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas - John Lewis

I’ve never tried any hourglass products before but I’ve heard so much about the brand. This month’s Cohorted beauty box included an hourglass liquid lipstick and I got the shade Canvas and it suits my skin tone perfectly. What’s so great about this product is it really does stay on your lips all day. I apply this in the morning and it dries so quickly on your lips.

What do you think of this months beauty favourites? Have you tried of these products before?
