My Current Makeup Must Haves ft Becca, Fenty Beauty, Bourjois & More

Wednesday, August 08, 2018

Have you ever had that feeling where you just put on a bunch of make-up and think ‘wow that makeup is bloody good’? Well, I have, and I am sure you have had that feeling a few times but lately I’ve found myself thinking that more and more. With the weather right now (it’s so hot) make-up that stays on or feels weightless on the skin has never been SO important. So, today’s post is dedicated to those make-up products that made me go ‘wow’ and products which last VERY well in this heat.
First up, it’s the Becca Backlight Priming Filter and let me tell you this stuff is GOOD like SERIOUSLY GOOD. Firstly, it’s on the higher end of the priming products I’ve seen on the market but with the average ‘high end’ primer being around £30, this only sets you back £28. What I love about this product is that a little goes a long way. I only use about a pump and a half of this on my skin each morning and my skin has never ever looked this glowy. I literally LOVE it.
Fenty Beauty Foundation in the shade - £26 from Harvey Nichols
The first thing I did when I was in Liverpool for my birthday was go into Harvey Nichols and I pretty much went straight for the Fenty Beauty counter as I was DYING to try this foundation and let me tell you this it’s pretty incredible, to say the least. First of all, it’s only £26 which is cheaper than the Clarins, YSL and IT Cosmetics foundations I’ve been using! Secondly, it makes your skin look seriously flawless. It fills in your pores, there’s no flashback when you use flash on your camera and it makes you look glowy at the same time. Mark my words this foundation is going to be a favourite of mine for a LONG time.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Caramelody - £8.99 from Boots/Superdrug
Can you be addicted to a lipstick? I think it’s possible as I can never go anywhere without making sure I have this lipstick nearby! I nearly have one in every handbag, my car and at my desk at work! I’ve gone through two of these lipsticks completely and I have to say this is the closest I’ve come to finding the perfect nude for my skin tone! I would highly recommend trying this lipstick out if you have olive/tanned skin and it’s such a nice formula too as it lasts literally all day.

Three MAC highlighters for £35, bargain right?! Considering a highlighter from MAC costs around £25, 3 for just over the price of one is a dream come true especially when they are all SUPER pigmented. The three shades in this palette are called Gold Coasting, which is a sunny summery hue, Get it Glowin’ which is a gorgeous champagne shimmer and Rosy Cheer which is a stunning bronzed goddess shade. These highlighters are definitely the ones I reach for the most and sometimes I like to mix a few together just to go for a more bronzed look! If you can pick up this palette while it’s still in stock I’d highly recommend it!

It’s only in the past couple of months that IT Cosmetics has been available in Boots and since I was lucky enough to receive a couple of products from them, I’ve been obsessed. This concealer really surprised me as a little goes a long way. This concealer is extremely full coverage and it really delivers, as it does not crease. It’ll hide those hung-over dark circles under your eyes and cover any spots in no time!

I’ve used Benefit brow products for the longest time and they really are great products. My favourite brow products by Benefit used to be the goof proof brow pencil in shade 4 and Gimme Brow in shade 4, however since Gimme Brow was not available I’ve now switched to using the Precisely My Brow Pencil in the shade 4 and it’s been revolutionary. I absolutely adore this pencil and it gives my brows such a nice, natural look. So much so, that I can’t imagine using anything else!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Perfume 50ml - £55 from Boots
I’ve been a big fan of Marc Jacobs’s fragrances and (I think) I own quite a few now but my favourite fragrance has always been Daisy so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered their new fragrance, Daisy Love! I just knew I had to have it and luckily I received it as a present for my 24th birthday! If you’re a long time fan of Daisy and you’re looking for a ‘fresher’ and more ‘summery’ scent then I’d get this added to your wish list.
Have you tried any of these products? Are you adding any of these to your wish list?
