Birchbox x Cath Kidston April Beauty Box Review

Saturday, April 28, 2018

It’s always an exciting time of the month when my monthly Birchbox arrives in the post. I love the different collaborations they have with designers, charities and also the themes of the boxes each month. This month’s Birchbox is a collaboration with designer brand, Cath Kidston. I’ve always been a big fan of Cath Kidston products, I mean who doesn’t love a floral print? My favourite Cath Kidston product I own definitely has to be my weekend bag (similar here) as whenever I go away for a night or two nights it’s the perfect size to just fit everything in! But yes, onto this month’s box…

I didn’t realise until I’d received this month’s box that I think I’m missing a product (the Lumene Nordic C Overnight Bright Sleeping Cream) but I received all the other products which are from brands including Marcelle, Beautaniq, Modelco and of course Cath Kidston!

Models Baked Highlighter (sample size 1.5g)
Modelco is a brand which I’ve tried numerous times in beauty boxes but I haven’t actually seen the brand on the high-street, or know where it is available! Modelco is an Australian brand and they’re known for their great budget friendly prices. I was so excited to see a baked highlighter in this month’s box as they really excite me (lame I know!) This shade is a stunning rosy pink but it appears quite natural on the skin, the only disappointing thing about this product is the sizing, I think it could have been a little bit bigger as it’s too small for me!

If you know me well, you’ll know I love my eyebrows. I think the maintenance of eyebrows is so important and at the moment I’m actually growing mine out as the last lady which threaded my eyebrows did them a little too thin! When I am feeling too lazy to do my make-up or just do my make-up in a rush I rely on gels like this to maintain a defined (but still brushed) look. I’ve tested this out a few times and I can confirm it works just like the Benefit Gimme Brow. It makes my eyebrows look more defined and thickens my brows at the same time.

Out of all the new ‘budget’ beauty launches right now I’ve noticed a few BB cream products and so I was excited to see an illuminating BB cream in this month’s box! This cream hydrates the skin, evens skin tone and controls shininess and what’s good about this cream is that it’s fine to use on sensitive skin as well!

Cath Kidston Hand Cream (Travel size 30ml, RRP £2.50)
If there’s one thing I seem to always buy, even though I already have about 5 on the go already its hand cream. This hand cream from Cath Kidston is infused with Jasmine, Vanilla and Orange flower and this smells absolutely DIVINE. One tip I have for hand cream is to moisturise your cuticles with the hand cream as well in circle motions to increase your blood flow (it helps your hands look younger too!)

There’s a special offer right now where you can receive 2 Birchboxes for £10, Bargain right?! All you have to do is enter ‘SPRING’ at the checkout here.

What do you think of this month’s Birchbox? Have you tried any of these products before?
