Beauty: Five New Budget Beauty Buys

Saturday, April 29, 2017

You can some real treats on the high street; I think it’s so easy to be enticed into shopping online when there are some great products right in front of you at your local Boots store. So here are 5 recent purchases over the past 2 months, which have turned out to be real favourites of mine from Smashbox, Real Techniques and Essie.

Real Techniques Eye Shade and Blend Set - £10.99 from Boots
You can never go wrong with a brush set from Real Techniques and they’ve released so many new brushes and sponges lately. I’ve used these brushes for about 4 years now and my favourite set to use has always been the eye starter set. So, when I spotted this set in my local Boots store I knew I had to try this out.
This set includes a base shadow brush, which can be used with powder, and cream shadows and I love using this to blend a neutral shade on my lids, as it’s the perfect size. Also part of the set is a deluxe crease brush, which works like a dream. I love using this for when I’m going for a heavy eye shadow look.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Wrap Party Matte - £17.50 from Boots

The Be Legendary lipsticks from Smashbox are some of my favourite lipsticks I own. I have about 3 or 4 of them now and I absolutely love them. This shade is a gorgeous orange toned red and it goes perfectly with my skin tone. I love how intense the Be Legendary lipsticks are and they last on your lips all day. I’m pretty sure I’ll be purchasing a few more of these over the coming months!

Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl - £26 from Boots

This palette is a new release from Smashbox in collaboration with YouTube star Casey Holmes. I’ve never heard of her, but this palette is stunning. This palette has three highlight finishes, from a subtle glow to a super sparkle for a more intense look. I like to build the shades up by using a fan brush but I also love just mixing all three shades together.
Essie Nail Polish in Chinchilly - £7.99 from Boots

I only seem to use Essie nail polishes at the moment, as they are the only nail polishes I have that actually stay on my nails for about a week. I love the more neutral shades Essie do but I also love the bright luminous shades. One of my favourite shades I always go back to is Chinchilly. This is a perfect all year round shade and it’ll suit anyone.

If you’ve been reading my blog a while, you’ll know that I love the cover shot palette range from Smashbox. This is the third palette I have in my make up collection and I absolutely love it. Each palette in the cover shot range has 6 eye shadows and 2 shades, which can be used as base shades. This palette has a range of shades from rose gold to bronze and copper and they’re all shades I love to use. I think this is a great palette for stepping out your comfort zone and trying something new.

Have you tried any of these products? What's on your beauty wish list at the moment?

I love the bits you've picked up, the Smashbox palettes both look amazing but I particularly love the shades in the eyeshadow palette.

I don't think I agree with all of these being "budget". £17.50 for a lipstick is quite an ask. I think real techniques brushes are amazing for price and the quality.
