Beauty: 5 Eyeshadow Palettes You Need In Your Makeup Collection

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Is there anything more exciting then a new eye shadow palette?! I didn’t know how happy a new eye shadow palette made me until I purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. It arrived on my work desk one Friday and I was squealing inside with excitement. Literally for the whole day and the weekend that followed I couldn’t stop looking at it and that’s when I came up with the idea for this post. So here are the 5 eye shadow palettes that have made my heart skip a beat (also palettes which I’ve used A LOT.)

When I become obsessed with wanting a beauty product I seem to read every blog review possible on it and watch every possible YouTube video before making a final decision and after about 3 months I decided that I’d treat myself to this palette. When I got an email from BeautyBay that the palette was back in stock I clicked and bought it in a heartbeat.

I’ve used this palette ever since and there are so many looks you can create with this palette. First of all, I have never tried out anything from ABH until this palette and now I’m hooked. These shades are so pigmented and creamy and the colour pay off is perfect. My favourite shades in this palette are burnt orange and realgar but I love primavera too. If you fancy reading my full review of this palette which includes swatches, you can checkout the post here.

Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette - £38 from Feel Unique

When it comes to affordable and accessible eye shadow palettes you can’t really beat Urban Decay. This is a recent purchase of mine and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. This palette is full of gorgeous matte shades, which are perfect for daytime and night time wear. First of all the packaging is rose gold, there is a huge mirror in side and the shades are super pigmented and easy to blend. My favourite shades in the palette are Faith, Lockout and Commando. You can check out my full review on the palette here.

Zoeva Naturally Yours Palette - £18 from Cult Beauty

Zoeva is a brand that I absolutely adore. I use Zoeva products everyday and if you’re looking for new make-up brushes, I’d 100% recommend investing in Zoeva ones. Aside from their outstanding (and totally life changing) make-up brushes, they also have a line of make-up products. Their most popular palette is the cocoa blend palette (as seen underneath in this post) but I have a few other palettes from Zoeva too including this one, which is called the Naturally Yours palette. The ranges of shades are stunning and they are perfect for everyday wear.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette - £18 from Beauty Bay

This palette from Zoeva is probably one of my most used palettes in my make up collection and I’ve been obsessed with using this for about 2 years now. I use this a lot to create shimmer looks (as most of these shades are shimmer). But there’s a gorgeous matte orange shade, which I love too. This palette is only £18 to which is an absolute steal. If you’re a regular reader you’ll recognise this palette as it’s featured in A LOT of blog posts!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette - £39 from Selfridges
Lastly, who doesn’t love an eye shadow palette that smells of chocolate?! Too Faced is another brand I would love to try more products from. I regularly used the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and this palette is a favourite of mine too. I really like the colour range in this palette and how pigmented the shades are. My favourite shade is hazelnut but I also love the shimmering brown shades. I love the looks I’ve created using this palette and I think this is a great palette for if you’re starting out with make-up. It offers every colour you’ll ever need and plus a bigger primer/highlighter shade too.

If I had to rank (1 being the best, 5 the still very good palette but not the best) I'd rank the palettes in this order...

Have you tried any of these eye shadow palettes?
