Beauty: My Favourite Smashbox Products

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

I’ve never really tried Smashbox cosmetics until this year and I’m really not sure why as it’s quickly become one of my favourite brands and every product I’ve tried from Smashbox I’ve been impressed with. If you ask me what make-up I use in my daily routine at the moment I would say it’s about 70% Smashbox products.

I love writing favourite brand product round up posts and they seem to go down well with you guys too so today I thought I would share some of the products from Smashbox which I reach for on a daily basis.

One of the biggest launches for Smashbox this year was when they rebranded their lipsticks and created 120 AMAZING new lipsticks and I sort of want them all! (I mean they are seriously beautiful.) I have about 4 or 5 in my collection of lipsticks at the moment and the lipstick that really stands out to me is the shade ‘Dirty Matte’. I am absolutely obsessed with this shade and it’s now my go-to nude lipstick. What else is amazing about this lipstick is that it stays on all day. I wear this shade to work a lot and one application can last my mid-morning snack and cuppa, lunch and then another cup of tea without needing to be reapplied which works super well for me!

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation - £29 (in shade 2.2)

When my bottle of Estee Lauder Double Wear ran out not too long ago, I knew it was time to experiment and try a new foundation. I absolutely adore double wear and I think it will always be a favourite foundation of mine, but I wanted to change it up a little. In comes Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation! I have been wearing this straight for over a week now as my Estee Lauder Double Wear has just run out and so far so good. I am really impressed with the staying power of this foundation and how at the end of the day, it looked like I’d only just put my foundation on. It’s a little bit heavier then my usual foundation which I am still not 100% keen on but with a good moisturise in the morning, this foundation is really hydrating but mattifying at the same time.

Smashbox LA Lights Blendable Lip and Cheek Colour in Hollywood & Highlight - £25

A couple of months ago I ended up picking up this set from Boots as I had read so many positive reviews online about it and it was only £30 for a mascara, highlighter, lipstick, eyeliner and a primer and it was well worth the purchase (especially when 3 products are full size too!) Unfortunately, this Hollywood and Highlight is only a sample size and I’ve now actually run out of this as I’ve used it all so quickly! I love using this highlighter, as it’s so creamy and easy to blend. I like using this on days where I don’t want to wear as much make-up but I also like using this as an under brow highlight too.

This primer is a sample size version from this set (see I told you it was worth buying!) and I am currently obsessed with using this. If you never got along with the Benefit Porefessional then you’ll love this. This primer applies so smoothly and feels so soft once you have applied it but also hydrating at the same time. I love using this underneath my foundation and it creates a perfect base for long lasting wear.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara - £19.50

I’ll have to admit I didn’t have big hopes for this mascara but I absolutely love it. This mascara adds a lot of length to my lashes but also volume at the same time.
I love how this is mascara is super black too which makes my eye make-up look more defined. If you like TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara then I’d 100% recommend trying this mascara out.

Have you tried any Smashbox products? Do you have any recommendations which I need to try?

P.S You can also get 10% off on Boots at the moment if you spend £40 or more on luxury beauty so go on treat yourself! ;)

The Smashbox foundation is one of my holy grails! It keeps me Matte literally all day and looks flawless! I want to try the concealer to go with it.
