Two brands fashion lovers can't ignore:Lipsy & Ted Baker

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

*Guest Post*

There are a few high street brands which UK shoppers can’t ignore, and for a long time they’ve been the same established names. In recent years and weeks, however, two newer brands have staked a claim as household names. Lipsy and Ted Baker are fast becoming more established – both in the UK and abroad.

Lipsy has just launched its brand new VIP range, and judging by the popularity of the new face of the brand, it’s set to go from strength to strength. Made in Chelsea star, Millie Mackintosh, is the new celebrity face of the fashion house, and the new range of garments is sure to be a hit. Mackintosh added: “I’m so excited to be modelling Lipsy's new VIP collection as the range is absolutely gorgeous! The brand always makes such great eveningwear and I love the exclusivity of this collection – all of the dresses would be perfect for any red carpet event!”

The range is a 17-piece capsule collection, and has been designed to suit every size, shape and taste, whilst keeping in touch with key trends for the upcoming season. There are numerous short hemlines, big and bold prints – an essential for the season – as well as a strong focus on embellishments.

Ted Baker, following the opening of its first Japanese store in Tokyo’s Omotesando district, has also become a genuinely international label. The brand new, two-story shop has a range of menswear, womenswear and accessories for shoppers to choose from.

The brand has clearly given it its shop design a lot of thought, and boasts an ‘analog-meets-digital’ concept, designed to welcome Japanese shoppers. Numerous old-school devices and gadgets – including typewriters, telephones and radios – adorn the shop. It also features an innovative switchboard attached to the staircase which leads to the basement. On this switchboard, visitors can simply plug in a few cables to instantly receive messages from the designers about looks and products.

These two brands are obviously growing and evolving in the right kind of way, demonstrating the power of brand loyalty. They should continue to increase in prominence and reputation, adding two more names to the UK’s list of high street elite. This is great news for fashion lovers across the UK and Tokyo. The more competition and choice shoppers have, the more brands will have to examine their offerings to ensure they’re providing the very best.

What do you think of Millie Mackintosh for Lipsy? What do you think of Ted Baker?

Millie looks amazing in the Lipsy Collection. Love the purple dress! Unfortunately I don't have a figure like hers and I'm not sure I'd be able to pull some of those dresses off hahaha gorgeous though.
