My May Make-up Bag ft NARS, YSL, BareMinerals and Bourjois

Sunday, May 06, 2018

My monthly make-up bag reviews have been some of my most read blog posts this year, so I am planning to keep this feature up for as long as I can! I love changing up my make-up bag each month but as predicted, there are some items, which I just love WAY too much to even, think about swapping them out for alternatives. So here it is, what’s in my make-up bag for May!
Fenty Beauty Primer – £24 from Harvey Nichols
Whilst I was away in Barcelona and I popped into Sephora and saw the Fenty Beauty stand, I knew I had to pick this primer up. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this primer from my favourite beauty influencers to follow online and it’s not disappointed. This primer is great for normal/combination skin and it helps minimise my pores and smooths out my skin. This primer also has a little shimmer in it which helps achieve the glowy look once you’ve applied your foundation.

YSL All Hours Foundation in shade BD45 - £35 from Boots/Debenhams
If you’ve been reading my blog religiously for the past few months you’ll know how much I love this foundation. It literally makes my skin look flawless and is the right level of coverage for my skin. If you’ve got normal/combination skin then I’d highly recommend this if you are looking for a new foundation to try!

YSL All Hours Concealer in Shade 2 - £23 from Boots/Debenhams
This concealer, alongside the all hours foundation are the dream duo. They work incredible well together and I have this concealer in shade 2, a shade lighter than my skin tone to make sure that my skin looks highlighted under my eyes. If you’re in the market for a new concealer, you definitely need to try this.

NARS Wanted Palette - £45.80 from World Duty Free
I recently went to Barcelona with my other half (you can read my travel guide here) and one of my favourite things about going away is making sure I go to World Duty Free. I mean who doesn’t love your favourite make-up at a MUCH cheaper price?! Dreamy right?

This palette was on my wish list at Christmas and when I had enough money to treat myself to it, it was out of stock literally everywhere and I couldn’t get my hands on it. But then, looking around duty free before my flight, I spotted it hyperventilated and bought it without question. I haven’t been disappointed by it and I’ve used it every day since, I mean just LOOK at those colours!
NYX Worth The Hype Mascara - £9 from Boots
I was in the market to try a new mascara as I wanted a mascara to achieve more of a ‘feathered’ look rather than the volume which the Benefit Bad Gal Bang achieves. At £9 this mascara is an absolute bargain, as it gives my lashes the right level of volume, but also the feathered look which false lashes give. If you’re looking to achieve the feathered lashes look and love your false lashes then I would recommend picking this up.
This brow product from Benefit has been my favourite for a long time now. It defines my brows without making them look un-natural. The shade 4 matches the colours of my brows perfectly and the tip of the pencil is soft to make your brows look as natural as possible. What’s great about this pencil as well is that you don’t need to sharpen it as it’s a twist up mechanism. The spoolie on this pencil is great as well as every time I need to brush my eyebrows this is the only thing I use.

I’m going to make a bold statement here, this is hands down my favourite blusher that I own in my make-up collection. This is a gorgeous peach shade with a hint of shimmer and it looks really good on my olive skin tone. I think this shade would look good on olive and dark skin tones but it might look too overpowering on a lighter skin tone.
MAC Prep and Prime is a product I think is really underrated in the beauty world as it’s a product that really does what it says on the tin. I think it’s super easy to use, a little of this primer goes a long way and it helps achieve the glowing highlighted effect on your skin.
Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand - £28 from Charlotte Tilbury
After becoming obsessed with my Charlotte Tilbury filmstar bronze and glow for the past few months, I’ve gone back to being obsessed with this contour wand. I love the natural look that this gives and how easy it is to blend with a Beauty Blender. If you’re looking for a beauty product to make contouring an easy task, trying this will solve all problems!

MAC Highlighter in Oh Darling - £25.50 from ASOS
Lastly, it’s the highlighter of DREAMS. I am absolutely obsessed with this highlighter as it’s such a gorgeous shade. It’s the perfect champagne/off gold colour and once you’ve layered it on your skin twice the glow it gives is absolutely INSANE. If you love a highlighter you’ll be fixated by this!

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Carramelody - £8.99 from Boots
I now own 3 of this shade of lipstick, as I love it THAT much. I mean you can’t beat a 3 for 2-offer right? I wear this lipstick pretty much everyday without fail, as it doesn’t need to constantly be reapplied. This lipstick will last while you’re drinking a coffee and eating and if that doesn’t make a good lipstick I am not sure what will. If you’re looking for a budget friendly lipstick then I’d swatch this range when you’re next in Boots or Superdrug!
