Glossybox 'Trick' October 2018 Beauty Box Review

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

One beauty box brand I have constantly been impressed with is Glossybox. I love how this month they have released two designs of beauty boxes, one for ‘Trick’ and one for ‘Treat’. I was really intrigued to see which beauty box I’d end up with and to my delight I got the ‘Trick’ box.

When it comes down to the content of the box, I genuinely think this is the best box they have ever done. I think for the price (£13.25) per month you are getting so many AMAZING products for your money from brands including Illamasqua, This Works, Luna by Luna, Sleek and MUA Luxe. I think what works well with this box is that it covers so many steps of your make-up routine so all products are so usable on a daily basis. So onto the contents…
What I liked about this months box is there is firstly a full size lipstick (yes) and it’s worth a massive £20! Bargain right? However this purple is not a wearable colour for a daily basis. But, if you’re going out for Halloween this year or have a fancy dress occasion, this lipstick will be VERY helpful. This is a gorgeous, yet vibrant violet shade and is not drying on the lips either!

Sleek IDivine Eyeshadow Palette in Au Natural (Full Size £8.99)
If you’re looking for a drugstore palette, which is good quality, Sleek is a brand to know about. Yet another full size product in this months box, this Sleek palette is super wearable too. This would be a great palette to create both daytime and night-time looks. However, as someone who gravitates towards more expensive eye shadow palettes I have to say I was disappointed with this palette in particular, I thought some of the shades were a little chalky, which I haven’t experienced before with previous Sleek palettes.

Luna by Luna HD Finishing Powder (Full Size £16.72)
Luna by Luna is a brand I’ve never actually heard of before but this was the product I have been most impressed with in this months box! This brand originated in New Jersey, it’s also a cruelty free brand too! This is a very lightweight formula and it helps to reduce the appearance of pores as well. I like applying this powder with my trusty beauty blender!
MUA Luxe Bronze & Sculpt Contour kit in Light/Medium - (Full size £5)

MUA Luxe is a brand I know is stocked in Superdrug but it’s a brand I’ve never actually tried before and unfortunately for me, this product arrived smashed! (just my luck) however, the lovely guys over at Glossybox are resending it (I think) so I can still trial the product out!
This Works in Transit Camera Close-up (Sample Size, Full Size £30)
This is a product I have trialled numerous times thanks to my beauty box addiction and I always finish every single one. This product from This Works is a moisturiser, mask and a primer all in one. This product is great as well as it is formulated with plant oils and caffeine and helps erase signs of fatigue.

Overall, I am SERIOUSLY impressed with this months box and that even if you decide to sign up to Glossybox for one month, this month is the one!

You can sign up to Glossybox here for as little as £10 per month here
