6 New High End Editions To My Make-up Bag

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Everyone loves a new beauty product, right?! When it comes to higher-end beauty products, sometimes I just can’t help myself and for good reason, who wouldn’t want to feel confident thanks to the make-up they are wearing? I find that when I wear ‘high end’ products that my confidence is just sky high compared to when I wear barely/no makeup.

I love how with higher-end products you know you are getting top of the range and they’ll hopefully last you a long time and look pretty in your makeup collection. Here are some ‘mini’ reviews on the latest beauty products I have picked up in the past couple of months.
If you’re looking for a full coverage concealer which doesn’t dry your skin out then you NEED this concealer in your life. I didn’t quite believe the reviews because I thought they were too good to be true but they really aren’t as this concealer is INSANE.
This concealer helps provide seamless coverage and can concealer under eye bags well as any redness/imperfections. This concealer feels lightweight on your skin but also hydrating. I’ve not tested the claim that this concealer is ‘sweat and water resistant’ yet, but I’ll report back to you all once I’ve tried and tested this concealer at a few gym sessions, but so far so good. I would pick this up.

I’ve been a fan of Benefit’s goof proof brow pencil for the LONGEST time but it got to a point where I was preferring a more ‘natural’ brow look so I knew I had to try something new. If you’re looking for a more natural and precise brow, this is the product for you. The precisely my brow pencil is ultra-fine and perfect for drawing in even the smallest eyebrow hairs. I am so impressed with this and definitely won’t be going back to the goof proof brow pencil!

Up until recently I was starting to think I was the only blogger to have NEVER tried a NARS foundation. I’m a big fan of NARS concealers but I’ve never branched out and I thought now was the time… I was with my other half in Cheltenham for the weekend (I’d highly recommend a visit by the way) and I spotted a Space NK store so I knew my trip would end up with this foundation. I have the shade Barcelona and I have to say I am a (little) disappointed by this, as it seems to oxidize a little so I thought I looked slightly orange. I will be giving this foundation another go once my skin is more tanned as I’m sure it’ll look perfect then!

First of all how amazing is it that this concealer comes in over 18 shades?! Amazing right? This concealer is super easy to apply and buildable so if you’re looking for a heavier coverage you could apply more throughout the day. This concealer is so good at concealing imperfections and doesn’t dry out your skin. This concealer claims to be waterproof as well but I’m yet to test out that claim…

Clarins SOS Primer in Shade 6 - £26.50 from Boots
Every summer Clarins release their own limited edition summer collection and I absolutely love it. I have tried their limited edition bronzer before which I loved and this year I decided to pick up this bronzing primer. This primer preps, corrects and illuminates the skin and this is all thanks to the ‘high lumitech complex’ in the primer. I love using this with my Evelasting Foundation to get my skin the ‘been on holiday’ tanned look.

Kiehls Glow Formula Skin Hydrator*- £30 from Kiehls
If you’ve been a reader for a long time you’ll know I absolutely adore Kiehls products. Their products work absolute wonders on my skin and before I used to use their products I used to get so many break outs but since I’ve used Kiehls products it’s a rare occasion! So when I heard about their latest release, the glow formula skin hydrator I knew I had to try it. If you’re looking for a low maintenance item to add into your make-up routine then you’ll adore this.

The glow formula skin hydrator is an essential you need to have in your make-up bag if you’re looking to achieve a dewy, but glowy skin look. This product from Kiehls is infused with pomegranate extract and illuminating minerals, which leave your skin looking super fresh and hydrated. I like to use this as a primer before foundation but you can also use this as a highlighter or just a base if you’re on holiday and you don’t want to wear much make-up!

All these products have been real successes for me, well aside from the NARS foundation, which will probably be a success once my skin is more tanned! But if I had to narrow it down to one product you really NEED from this post it’s 100% the Kiehls glow formula skin hydrator (if you’re looking for a multi-use product) or the Benefit brow pencil for everyday use.

Have you tried any of these products? What make-up have you been picking up lately?

I've heard great things about the Kiehl's! It's a shame you didn't love the Nars foundation - for me it was a slow burn but I'm now a huge fan
