The Makeup Products I'll Always Have Backups of

Sunday, April 15, 2018

Everyone has those make-up products which they’re scared to run out of right? Well instead of being a normal person and always having a backup of my favourite foundation, I’ve discovered there’s a few more items in my make-up collection which I can’t seem to be without. So if you’re feeling nosey and you’d like to know which products I can’t bear to be without and why, read on…

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate - £39.50 from Kiehls
When it comes to skincare, you really can’t beat Kiehls for a ‘go-to’ brand for any queries or issues you might have. If I had to rank my favourite Kiehls products in order, the Midnight Recovery Concentrate would firmly be number 1. I use this on my skin every single night without fail and I have noticed the biggest difference since using this. My skin is more hydrated and my make-up goes on so much easier the following day. I think this will be one of those products that I’ll use for the rest of my life as I literally love it SO much, I mean you can see my love for it as I have another bottle for when my current one runs out!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primeriser - £30 from Boots
This is a product I’ve used pretty much every day since it’s been released. It’s a primer and moisturiser all in one, so it’s perfect if you’re a busy girl on the go who wants to get their make-up done quickly. The primeriser leaves your skin feeling hydrated for up to 24 hours and it’s great because it’s quick drying as well. I’ve not quite finished my first bottle of this, but I already have a second bottle as a backup!

MAC Fix+ Spray - £19 from Look Fantastic/ASOS
Mac Fix+ is the sort of essential that needs to be in everyone’s make-up collection at all times. I like to use this as primer, setting spray but also as a ‘spritz’ when I am holiday to refresh my make-up with minimal effort. I primarily use this as a setting spray as when you use a liquid highlighter (like the ICONIC London highlighter) you end up with a sun-kissed glow. I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and this is my 4th bottle of the stuff! That must make me a bit of a fix plus addict right?
YSL All Hours Foundation in BD45 - £35 from Debenhams/Boots

If you’ve been reading my latest posts you’ll know I am now the BIGGEST fan of this foundation. I have never tried anything quite like it and I’m sure I’ll be using it for many years to come. Recently, Debenhams has a 20% off event and I just had to pick a backup of this foundation up as it had a massive £8 off it making it only £27! If you’re looking for that model like flawless skin then I’d recommend picking up a sample of this from your local YSL counter.

YSL All Hours Concealer in Shade 2 - £23 from Debenhams/Boots
I’m always on the hunt to find the perfect concealer and I think I’ve found a new favourite with this YSL All Hours concealer as it looks INCREDIBLE layered on top of the all hours foundation. This consistency of this concealer isn’t too think and it’s easy to blend with a beauty blender for a flawless finish. At first, I thought this concealer was too light, but if you’re going for the highlighted/awake under eye look this concealer does the trick.

Have you tried any of these products? What products do you have backups of in your make-up stash?
