Beauty: May Beauty Favourites ft Too Faced, Smashbox, Urban Decay and Maybelline

Sunday, May 28, 2017

I’m really starting to wonder where this year is going, the fact it’s so close to June just baffles me! I can’t believe we are coming up to half way through 2017. However, one thing I do like at the end of every month is rounding up my beauty favourites for the month and sharing them with you all. These products, as usual some as new in purchases, some are old favourites but I hope you’ll read this post and discover a new product that you will love.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water - £22 from Boots
A more recent favourite, after not being (that) impressed with drugstore make-up primer sprays I’ve tried and used up I decided to invest in this photo finish primer from Smashbox and I love it. This primer is silicone, alcohol and oil free and restores moisture in my skin and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. What I have really noticed with this primer is that my foundation really does glide on after I’ve sprayed this onto my face in the morning. You can also use this throughout the day to refresh your skin too, which makes it a great handbag staple.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (Travel Size) - £10*
This is an old favourite of mine and I still absolutely adore it. I’ve never read a review or watched a video where someone has said anything bad about this spray. It really does help your makeup stay in place all day and it lasts up to 16 hours without melting, fading or setting into fine lines. This setting spray is also suitable for all skin types too (winner!)

Maybelline Brow Precise Perfecting Highlighter - £6.99

This is a product launch from Maybelline I was really excited about. I love brow products and I always want to try and achieve the perfect brow look. Ever since picking this up I’ve used this every single day without fail to highlight above my eyebrows and underneath my brow bone and it really does give my brows the highlighted look.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette - £39 from Debenhams
After not falling for the hype that surrounded this launch from Too Faced, I fell deeply in love with this palette and I absolutely adore it. I even did a whole blog post recently on this palette here if you fancy a read!
Essie Nail Polish in Bare With Me - £7.99 from Boots

If there’s a brand of nail polish that I love, it’s Essie polishes. I absolutely love how varied the colours are and how you can always find your perfect shade on the Essie counter. I fell in love with this nude shade (which is part of their new collection called Wild Nudes) and love how gorgeous it looks against my skin tone. What I also really like about Essie products is I always get compliments on my nails when I wear them.
NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Cabaret Show - £7 from Boots

If you’re looking for a super affordable liquid lipstick then look no further then the lip lingerie range from NYX. They have pretty much every single nude shade imaginable and my current favourite is ‘Cabaret Show’ which is a gorgeous deep nude colour. What I also love about these liquid lipsticks is that they don’t budge so you can guarantee they will stay on your lips all day.
Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in Lolita 2 - £17

About a year ago, I remember watching a make up video from Kathleen Lights about this liquid lipstick and I just knew I had to own it, I just didn’t know when I would. I picked this up on my trip to Rome recently where they have a Sephora and I saw it and it was like a dream and I wore this the whole trip. If you’re looking for a red liquid lipstick, which is also a nude tone to it, you will love this.

When I’ve got a special occasion or just a night out where I feel like I need to look just that little bit more perfected, put together and glowy I use this concealer from Clarins. This is actually the second one I’ve gone through. The only downside about this product is there isn’t a lot of product and if you use this all the time you will go through it quickly. I apply this to my forehead, nose and under my eyes and this makes my skin look highlighted but concealed at the same time and what’s even better is that it doesn’t crease!
Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Waterproof Mascara - £7.99 from Boots
Maybelline is a high street brand that doesn’t get enough credit. I’ve found some amazing drugstore products and I always look forward to a new release from the brand. When my latest mascara-starting going dry I knew I had to try a Maybelline mascara and I picked this one up. I love how it’s a waterproof mascara but it’s so easy to take off with a make up remover. The mascara gives great volume to my lashes and I love how it makes my lashes look more defined.

What do you think of this months beauty favourites? Have you tried any of these products? Which products will you be adding to your wish list?

I never have any luck with Maybelline Colossal mascaras, they just never work on my thin, short and very fine lashes. :-( And you're not the only one who is baffled about us already in June, I swear this year is zooming past way too quickly.

I haven't seen that Maybelline brow highlighter before - will have to check it out. The water primer intrigues me too. Great roundup! xx
