Beauty: Boots Haul ft NYX, Barry M and L'Oreal

Thursday, June 16, 2016

I’ve noticed that some of my most read posts are Boots beauty related posts or beauty hauls so I thought it’s time for another. The lovely people over at Octer got in contact about their site and if you haven’t heard of Octer, the brand originally launched as a mobile shopping application and the brand has expanded to become a destination for fashion forward retail.

Octer provides customers with a simple solution to shopping as everything is in one place. What’s not to love about that? They kindly gifted me £50 and so as usual, I headed to the make-up section of the site and here’s what I bought. What I bought was from Boots but I picked it up through the Octer site.
NYX No.6 Fan Brush - £14
NYX is one of my favourite drugstore brands and every product I’ve ever had from NYX I’ve loved so I felt like it was only right to add a few more NYX products to my make-up collection. First up I picked up the NYX no.6 fan brush and I’m a little bit obsessed. I really like my real techniques fan brush but it didn’t quite pick up as my product as I wanted (especially highlighter) and so this brush from NYX is a dream. It’s so soft, easy to use and it perfect for use with highlighter, bronzer or even blusher.
NYX Lipstick Lingerie Review

NYX Lipstick Lingerie Review
I feel like everyone and their mum has raved about the NYX lingerie lipsticks and I was excited that when I was online shopping on Boots that they were in stock! I did some more research and decided to go for the shades Teddy and Ruffle Trim. As you can see from the photos, ruffle trim is a lighter nude shade, it reminds me a lot of MAC honey love lipstick. Teddy is a much darker shade but I really like it. I think this shade would look amazing with a more bold make-up look.

One thing I really like about NYX is its very budget friendly. A lot of budget high-street brands have illuminators which are between £10-£20 and this one really doesn’t break the bank as it’s only £7. I like liquid illuminators as they can be used as a highlighter or as an added extra to your foundation to make your skin look glowy.
Barry M Illuminating Strobe Cream in Frosty Pink - £4.49
This illuminating strobe cream from Barry M is a sell-out right now. I have been trying to get my hands on this for a long time in the champagne shade, but I managed to pick this up in frosty pink. I think so far (from using this twice) it’s a great budget friendly illuminating product. It’s creamy, easy to use and blendable which makes it a perfect summer product for days where you don’t want to wear too much make-up.

L'oreal Paris Glam Bronze Cushion Soleil Review

L'oreal Paris Glam Bronze Cushion Soleil Review
L'Oreal Paris Glam Bronze Cushion Soleil - £9

This is possibly the most hyped up product this year, alongside the cushion foundations. I wasn’t as drawn to the cushion foundation as I am all set with my Estee Lauder double wear, but the bronzer cushion really caught my eye. I really like this product as it’s easy to use, but instead of using the make-up sponge I use my beauty blender. If you’re a fan of bronzer, you’ll love this product. The only thing I am not a fan of with this product is the packaging, as you can see from the photo it's already coming off and hasn't been made up to the brands normal standard in my opinion.

Barry M Glow Bronzer - £5.69

Lastly, I picked up this bronzer a little while ago in Superdrug, alongside a couple of lipstick liners (which I forgot to take photos of), which I really like. This bronzer was a free gift when you bought two products. It’s a perfect summer staple and this colour of the bronzer is gorgeous too.

What do you think of these products? Have you tried any of these products out?
